Female Inductees into Poker Hall of Fame
It's no secret that poker is a game primarily dominated by men: most final tables on television are 99% male, 9 out of 10 famous poker pros are men, and on and on and on. But there's definitely no shortage of excellent female poker players, and this year's introduction of the first four women to the Poker Hall of Fame will finally put the icing on the lady's poker cake.

Each year a handful of new players are inducted into the poker hall of fame. This year will mark the first ever female inductees, with a string of four old-school phenoms added to the ranks of all the greats. These four players are Linda Johnson, Susie Isaacs, Barbara Enright and Marsha Waggoner.

Of the four, probably the most immediately recognizable to the average poker player is Linda Johnson, who has made her name and face well known in recent years not from her playing, but from her hosting of the World Poker Tour events. The woman you see on TV calling the action and requesting to 'Shuffle up and deal!' is her, but her poker career did not begin with the WPT. Commonly known as 'the First Lady of Poker,' Linda is in fact a world series bracelet holder from 1997. She is 41st on the all-time female poker winnings list with $279,000. She also served for years as the editor of CardPlayer magazine and is well known for involvement with the popular CardPlayer poker cruises. Linda is also well known for her involvement with the development of card room policy across the States and for her support of various gambling agencies that help keep gambling alive and well.

Susie Isaacs is known primarily for her back-to-back wins in the Ladies stud event at the World Series of Poker in 1996 and 1997. In addition to that, though, she's been maintaining a successful poker career for the last 20 years. She is 31st on the all-time ladies money list with $345,000 and teaches poker workshops and classes all across the country.

Barabara Enright is probably the most well known player's player of the four above. She is most revered for being the first woman to ever make a WSOP final table, when she finished 5th in 1995. In addition to that she's won three WSOP bracelets in stud and pot-limit hold em. She is 8th on the ladies all-time money list with $1.2 million, throughout more than 30 years of professional play. I wouldn't mess with this woman.

Finally, we have Marsha Waggoner, from Sydney, Australia. She is 13th on the all-time ladies money list with more than $800,000 and has been playing professionally for more than 20 years. She's cashed in the WSOP and WPT more than 20 times total and has made her name by poker writing and playing in some of the biggest games around. She is also married to fellow pro Kenna James.
