As a result of the further growth in popularity of their world class tournament events, the World Poker Tour announced earlier this week that they will be adding a new 'Ladies Poker League' and WPT tournament circuit, entirely based around growing the market around women who play poker.
Full Tilt Poker announced their next round of the popular online poker tournament series which will begin on February 6th. This new 12 day event will feature $10 million dollars in guaranteed prize money and a wide variety events that will have online poker players of every stripe up to their neck in good action.
As reported at the turn of the new year, Full Tilt has now become ranked as the most traffic-heavy gambling site online. As of the beginning of 2008, Full Tilt had logged a whopping 10,000 live cash game players seated a table at once, edging out over their biggest competitor, Party Poker.
Earlier last week the Florida Department of Interior signed a deal between Governor Charlie Crist and the Seminole Nation which would allow a 25-year expansion of the legalized gambling in Florida. Already they're seeing backlash.
As if in an attempt to backlash against the pro-poker rallying done here in the U.S. at the end of 2007, Germany has gone on record as in the ring with the States' anti-gambling stance by announcing that they will ratify a bill against online casinos in the first weeks of 2008.
